Stages of a Wrongful Death Case--Introduction

As a Kentucky Personal Injury Attorney, Wrongful Death cases make up a large percentage of my practice. I generally handle Wrongful Death Cases that are the result of: Auto Accidents, Truck Accidents, Interstate Semi-Trucking Accidents, Bus Crashes, Medical Malpractice and Hospital Negligence.

Working for a family who has suffered the loss of a loved one is my passion. Helping this family through a time of deep sorrow and grief and holding the wrongdoer accountable is the reason that I practice. The victim in these type cases has no voice once they are gone. I practice law to be that voice.

My first job in a Kentucky Wrongful Death case is to find out exactly what happened. Many times the Police agency or the hospital staff has a different version of the facts of a Wrongful Death than what we come up with after our investigation. It is up to me to take nothing for granted and leave no stone unturned. That is why I have assembled a team of Accident Reconstructionists, expert Doctors and Nurses and sesoned Investigators.

I find that when we run our investigation in conjunction with and as an alternative to that of other agencies, that we can get to the truth much faster. Once I find out exactly what happen it is usually time to proceed with the lawsuit. Of course, each step of the way I keep my client's fully informed and involved as much as possible.

A Kentucky Wrongful Death Lawsuit usually ends with a Trial or a Settlement with the wrongdoer and their Insurance Company. These cases can take from 6 months to 2 years from start to finish.

In the Articles that follow I will detail the Stages of Wrongful Death that the Family and/or friends of the Victim usually go through. I hope to detail, based on my experience, what can be expected by the family and friends of the Victim of a Kentucky Wrongful Death. I hope you find these Articles informative and I hope they make a difference if you or a loved one has to go through these stages.
