The life of SIU Student Ryan Rendleman was cut short way too soon.  A Tractor Trailer Driver that was not paying attention slammed into the back of Rendleman's car killing him in Southern Illinois.

The career of an Aspiring PhotoJournalist gone in the blink of an eye.  A life taken by a Negligent Professional Driver.

An Illinois Wrongful Death Lawsuit is likely given the facts of this case.  The family of Ryan Rendleman would have case against the Driver as well as the Company that he drove for while he was on duty.  The Wrongful Death Claim ould be for Loss of Love and Affection, Lost Earnings Capacity, Medical and Funeral Bills and Pain and Suffering.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Ryan Rendleman.

I live in Nashville, Il, not far from where this tragedy took place. I drive that stretch of road every day. That particular stretch is just one hill after another. I honestly believe that there was NOT sufficient nor adequate warning of construction on that road. The construction company should also be held accountable.

D,

That is a great point that you make. Depending on what the facts are, the Construction Company could be liable in this tragedy. They, like the drivers, have a duty to act with reasonable care in their actions as well as in their warnings.

the state should also be held responsible for allowing the construction co. flag that stretch of hwy in the manner they did. that is saying that anjulating terrain played a part. i'm sure there were state inspector on that site at one time or another. not to mention, the next morning i heard there was another accident in the same place. this time the injured were only critical. but whats the worse of two evils? disabled for the rest of a life? someone needs to fix this once and for all!!!
