Police recovered the body yesterday after the Semi plunged into the Licking River after striking a vehicle stopped in the emergency lane on Tuesday night. Heavy rains may have caused a tractor trailer accident Friday just outside of Columbia on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway. The driver apparently lost control ran off the roadway and struck a guardrail, then crossed the westbound lanes, overturned and landed in the median. A semi tractor-trailer overturned Saturday causing Kentucky 141 to close for about 3 ½ hours. The 2001 Freightliner carrying a load of corn missed a curve, crossed the center line and dropped off the shoulder of the road. The driver had to be extricated by the Morganfield Rescue Squad and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
