Teenager Injured In ATV Accident

Friday evening a 15-year-old boy was injured when he was riding his ATV and was struck by an SUV. A 58-year-old East Bernstadt woman was driving east on Helvetia Road when the boy pulled out in front of her. The boys brother who was also driving an ATV watched as the SUV slammed into his brother. The sheriff said the boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He was transported by helicopter to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington. He appeared to have suffered a broken leg and my have had abdomen or chest injuries. The driver of the SUV was not injured, she was wearing a seatbelt.
