Monday afternoon a truck, contracted by the Environmental Protection Agency, collided with a Ford Windstar van around 3 p.m. The truck was turning left onto Highway 1020 toward the site of the train derailment when it hit the van. The van driver and the passenger had to be transported to the University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured at the time. Highway 61 was closed to traffic for around 45 minutes. An investigation is still pending.
