The State Fire Marshall working with local fire officials have decided to let the fire burn itself out in Bullitt County. Those who have been evacuated still do not know how long the evacuation will last. The Red Cross opened a shelter at Okolona Christian Church at 1081 Faithful Way.
Residents this morning woke to a rumble and shaking of windows close to the scene. One resident said they could tell it was an explosion and you could see the smoke when you looked out.

Gov. Ernie Fletcher announced Tuesday full state support in response to the derailment.
Fletcher, with other state officials, flew over the accident scene this morning.
"Our priority continues to be the safety and security of the citizens in the area," Fletcher said in a release. "We will aggressively monitor and evaluate the situation and do everything possible to ensure the fire is managed safely."
