The FDA notified health care professionals and patients about a voluntary recall of Complete MoisturePlus contact solution manufactured by Advanced Medical Optics of Santa Ana, CA. The recall is being done because of a rare but serious eye infection caused by a parasite. The infection of Acanthamoeba keratitis was identified through an investigation by the CDC. The symptoms of this can be very similar o other eye infections such as redness, eye pain, blurred vision, light sensitivity, something in the eye, or excessive tearing. It can be difficult to treat.
