Two Richmond Teens Killed in Accident

Two Teenagers from Richmond were killed Wednesday in Madison County when the car they were in lost control and crossed the center line. A 19 year old and 17 year old were in a 1999 Mercury Cougar about 3:55 p.m. during heavy rainfall. The vehicle rounded a curve and crossed the center line and was struck by a Richmond man who was in a 1999 Honda Civic. The man in the Honda Civic had multiple injuries and was treated at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington and later released. The 19 year old was pronounced dead at the scene and the 17 year old was transported to Pattie A. Clay Regional Hospital in Richmond where he later died. According to police all were wearing seat belts. Both vehicles were severely damaged and police are still investigating the accident.
