The two accidents occurred about one half mile from each other. One crash resulted in 4 people being transported to Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. A car reportedly crossed the center line striking the other car head on. The driver of the at fault vehicle was charged with driving under the influence of drugs. The second wreck happened about an hour later. The driver of one vehicle had to be airlifted to Holston Valley Hospital.
