I-75 in Fort Mitchell was a 14 hour cleanup mess for crews Thursday after a tractor trailer carrying car seats and springs slid on pavement about 2:40 a.m. flipped over, breaking open the top of the trailer and spilling the load. Two of the three northbound lanes just north of Dixie Highway were shut down, slowing traffic for much of the day. No one was injured but cleanup wasn't completed until nearly 5 p.m. There were several minor crashes due to the overturned truck in the line of cars stopped behind it. The driver was exceeding the 55 mph speed limit at the time of the accident.

"The crash was the latest involving a truck on I-75. A recent Kentucky Post analysis of I-75 truck accident data north of Kyles Lane showed that such crashes have increased in the last 2½ years, reversing an earlier three-year trend."
