Thrill Ride Leaves Girl With Severed Feet at Kentucky Kingdom

Thursday afternoon a 13 year old girl lost her feet when they were severed just above the ankle while on a ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. The Superman Tower of Power ride is one that takes riders up 177 feet into the air and then drops at speeds of 54 mph 157 feet before stopping 20 feet above the ground. At this time it appears a cable may have come loose and become wrapped around the ankles of the girl. Eight theme parks shut down similar rides across the country after the incident. The ride had received satisfactory marks from state inspections for the last four years including one done in April. The girls name and condition are being withheld for the privacy of the family.
