Yesterday morning a deadly accident took place when a semi truck driven by a 55 year old man from London, loaded with coal on East Ky. 80 hit a Geo tracker driven by a 31 year old woman from Somerset. The Geo Tracker was sitting still waiting to turn when it was struck in the rear by the semi truck. Upon impact it sent it across the median into oncoming traffic and was stuck head on by another semi truck driven by a 57 year old Nashville, TN man. Three children in the Geo were taken to the hospital and one later had to be airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. The driver of the Geo was killed due to blunt force trauma to the chest. The driver of the coal truck was cited for being 7,050 pounds over weight.
