School Bus Hits and Kills 14 year-old Student

The Courier Journal reported that a 14 year-old student was struck by a school bus this morning as he crossed Taylor Boulevard in Louisville. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The school bus was empty but on it's way to pick up students for Western Middle School. The boy was wearing dark clothing and darted across the 4 lane highway outside of the crosswalk. The director of transportation Rick Caple said he did not expect the bus driver to be charged. Such fatal bus accidents are rare. He will be tested under standard procedures for drugs and placed on non-driving duties and until investigations determine fault.
