Runaway Truck Kills Mother and Child

A 25 year old Manitou, Kentucky mother, her infant son, and four year old daughter were playing by a tree in their front yard Monday when a freak accident occurred. Crick Paving Company was in the process of unloading a tractor from a flatbed when the front of the trailer lifted up, causing the back of the truck to lift. The truck, with no one at the wheel, then began moving across the roadway into the yard and straight at the tree where they were seated. The four year old was not seriously hurt, but the mother and infant were killed. State Police are still trying to piece the accident together to see what happened.
