One Killed, Three Injured in Breathitt County

Monday morning a two car collision on Ky. 15 at Vancleve killed the son of Breathitt County surveyor Jake Combs. According to a police report Shawne Combs was heading north on KY 15 near the junction of KY 205 when he apparently crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle driven by a 42-year-old South Fork resident. Combs was flown to the University of Kentucky Hospital. Passengers in both vehicles and the driver were taken to Kentucky River Medial Center for treatment and listed in stable condition. The accident happened around 11:42 and Combs was pronounced dead at 3:21. No one in the Combs vehicle was wearing a seatbelt. The Kentucky State Police investigated.
