For the second time in recent weeks there was a fire at Harborside Healthcare in Madisonville. The first fire was from a water heater and caused minor damage and no injuries. The fire on February 28th has now resulted in the death of a 48 year old man. He died Monday at University of Louisville Hospital of thermal burns suffered to his head and face according to the autopsy. The fire was confined to the mans room and is still under investigation. A guest, three staff members and a second resident also suffered injuries as a result of falls, smoke, and bumps. Residents were evacuated at the rear of the building at the time of the fire. Nurses who attempted to control the blaze were driven back by smoke.
