Did you know ATV's are not to be operated on any public highway, roadway or right of way of any public highway? Or that a person operating an ATV on public property must wear approved headgear at all times the vehicle is in motion? There are some exceptions to that last one if you are doing farm related work, mining, logging or any business activity, or on personal property. Most of us don't think of this when we buy one for ourselves or maybe even our kids. According to the Kentucky State Police so far this year there have been 6 ATV deaths and none were wearing helmets. It might be worth your time to visit the Kentucky Department of Transportation's website before you purchase or use your ATV next time to see what the regulations in the State of Kentucky are.
