A hit and run accident around 3 p.m. Saturday caused a Grayson County resident to be taken to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. The accident happened when a 1986 Chevy dropped off the shoulder of the roadway, and the passenger of the vehicle grabbed the steering wheel in an attempt to correct the vehicle, causing it to cross the center line and collide head on with a 1994 Pontiac Grand AM. The driver of the Grand am was transported by Grayson County EMS to Twin Lakes and was treated and later released. The driver of the 1986 Chevy and the passenger fled the scene on foot and were later caught and charged. According to the police report the passenger stated the driver was drinking an alcoholic beverage at the time of the accident.
