It's that time of year again, county fairs going on and the carnival rides the children love. But how safe are those rides? The Department of Agriculture is responsible for inspecting just once a year those rides here in Kentucky. Two children were injured in Mercer County when the lap bar on the "Sizzler" failed while the ride was moving, a six year old boy had a cut on his head and his seven year old brother also suffered injuries. The lap-bars apparent failure came from a worn spring. After replacing all the springs and latches the ride is now back in use.
