Thursday afternoon around 1 p.m. in Independence two men were injured when they lost control of the vehicle they were in, ran off an embankment and head on into a tree. The passenger was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but the driver was trapped in the car for almost 2 hours. Firefighters and rescue crews had to raise the car up to the roadway to free the 17 year old boy who was then taken to University Hospital by Air Care.
