Automobile Crashes Number 1 Killer of Children 12 and Under in KY

According to the Kentucky Transportation Center, auto crashes kill more children in KY than anything else. Many of those lives could have been saved if people would have used seatbelts and cars seats. Both state and federal law require drivers to use car seats for infants and children 40 inches in height or less. Proper use can reduce the risk of death by 70% and the need for hospitalization by 67 % according to the Center.
