A 25 year old man is dead as the result of smoke inhalation. He was found inside an apartment in the hallway. The fire was located at 325 S. Peterson Ave. in a two story brick fourplex. The fire was located in the living room and firefighters had a difficult time getting into the apartment because part of the floor was burned away. No one else appeared to be in the building The other three units were checked for smoke detectors and were found to have them but one has not been found in the one that burned. It's possible it could have melted down but at this time that has not been determined. Arson investigators and the Louisville Fire Department were investigating.
