Leaking anhydrous ammonia at a Nestle factory caused an explosion that injured seven employees and caused a shut down of the plant in Mt. Sterling, KY. The workers were taken to Mary Chliles hospital although no injuries appeared to be life threatening. The 2 a.m. explosion knocked down one wall but no one was struck by the falling debris. Other factories however were shut down also until it was sure the ammonia had dissipated.. Employees were complaining of respiratory problems due to the inhalation of the ammonia.
