The intersection of North Kentucky 1247 and Kentucky 70 near Somerset was the site of the accident that sent the Eubank chief of police to the UK Chandler Hospital Tuesday. A woman apparently drove her van through the intersection, disregarding the stop sign, and hit the police chiefs car. His cruiser then flew off the road and overturned. The police chief had to be extricated from the car and flown to UK Chandler Hospital where he had surgery Tuesday. The driver of the van was also transported to the hospital.
